July 31, 2001. We had only had Megan a couple days at this point, and she was still adjusting. Megan wanted Diana or Ryan when she needed comforting. Megan's life had changed radically in the past week. She had gone from her foster family (with whom she'd lived for the previous eight months), back to the orphanage for a few days, and then to us. She obviously couldn't understand anything we were saying, and she was in distress quite a bit. We're sure the food we were giving her was also not what she had been accustomed to.
